A Gold Miner That Could Earn Its Market Cap Every Year: Scottie Resources (TSXV: SCOT | OTC: SCTSF)

A Gold Miner That Could Earn Its Market Cap Every Year: Scottie Resources (TSXV: SCOT | OTC: SCTSF)

Experts Roundtable
26 days ago 1:21:35

Key Highlights

detailed
  • CEO Thomas Mumford argues Scottie's direct-ship ore (DSO) model — no mill, no tailings facility, just a sorting plant and 40 km truck haul to the Port of Stewart — gets the project into production by late 2028 with ~$130M CAD capex, which he says is why the BCR has a 5.2x NPV/CapEx at the $2,600 gold PEA base case
  • Maiden resource (May 2025) of 700,000 oz at 6.1 g/t is now outdated, Mumford says, because it excludes ~27,000 m drilled in 2025 and 50,000+ m being drilled this year, with a resource revision and feasibility study both targeted for late March / early April 2026
  • Bulk sample on the Bend vein (4,600 t at ~14.4 g/t out of a 10,000 t permit) generated ~$9M of net revenue in nine days and Mumford plus Brian Leni use it to argue the project can throw off ~$150M of free cash flow per year at $2,600 gold once in production
  • Key partnerships: Franco-Nevada holds an equity stake plus a 2% royalty bought at a time when Scottie had no resource; Ocean Partners owns ~13%, holds the DSO offtake, and is committing a $25M USD financing package toward project construction
  • Mumford targets growing the resource to 2 million ounces over the next three to five years funded by production cash flow, with toll-milling optionality through Ascot/Cambria's Premier mill 20 km south adding roughly $150M of NPV if that operation restarts

Scottie Resources plans 2028 production from a BC Golden Triangle gold project using DSO, shipping crushed ore directly to a Taiwan offtake buyer with no mill or tailings facility. A 2025 bulk sample pulled $9 million from 4,600 tons at ~14.5 g/t over nine days, validating the road-to-port shipping model ahead of a Q1 feasibility study. Management targets roughly $150 million in annual free cash flow at $2,600 gold, with average production near 65,000 ounces per year over a seven-year mine life. Eleven commentators split on the plan: a few endorsed the team, while others flagged the $225 million valuation and tight two-year timeline as key risks. Indicated-versus-inferred resource conversion, project financing, and a joint IBA with the Nisga'a are the milestones Thomas pointed to as the path from PEA to first pour.

Scottie Resources – First High-grade Gold Assay Results From The 52,000 Metre 2026 Drill Program

The KE Report
30 days ago 19:06

Key Highlights

detailed
  • First headline assays from the 2026 program returned 9.7 g/t gold over 18m and 26.2 g/t gold over 2.45m at the Blueberry contact zone, released to the market on September 9, 2026.
  • The company has completed about 44,000m with eight drill rigs and expects to surpass its 50,000m target on the same budget, potentially reaching 52,000–56,000m, calling it one of the larger programs in the sector.
  • The 50,000m program is structured three ways: convert inferred resources to indicated for the feasibility study, expand known veins (including at depth at Blueberry and the Scotty Gold Mine area), and dedicate roughly 15,000m to step-outs and new targets such as Domino.
  • Last season's bulk sample validated the direct-ship model — 4,600 tons at 14.5 g/t were hand-sorted, trucked, and shipped via Ocean Partners, generating roughly $9M in profit.
  • Engineering is essentially complete, the environmental baseline is more than half done, and underground permits for the Scotty mine are in hand; the company targets a JAPA permit and 2028 production, and says it is profitable at $2,600 gold with a current valuation near $250M.

Scottie's first 2026 drill assays from the Blueberry Contact Zone returned 9.7 g/t gold over 18 m, plus 26.2 g/t over 2.45 m in another hole. Eight diamond drills have completed about 44,000 metres so far, on track for 52,000-56,000 m within the original 50,000 m budget. The three-pronged 2026 program targets inferred-to-indicated upgrades, vein expansion, and step-out drilling to feed a 2027 feasibility study and 2028 production. A 2025 bulk sample proof of concept returned 4,600 tons at 14.5 g/t gold, validating the direct-ship-ore strategy with Ocean Partners ahead of mill build-out. Environmental baseline work is more than 50% complete and the First Nations IBA is advancing; a JAPA permit application follows the feasibility study.

Dave Erfle - Site Visit Recap: Cassiar Gold & Scottie Resources

Dave Erfle - Site Visit Recap: Cassiar Gold & Scottie Resources

The KE Report
about 1 month ago 16:35

Key Highlights

detailed
  • The guest argues that the high-grade Blueberry bulk sample — 16 g/t, generating roughly $9M — validates Scottie's direct-ship-ore model and underpins the company's move straight to a feasibility study in mid-2027.
  • Eight drill rigs are turning on a roughly 50,000m program at the time of recording (early September 2026), with CEO Brad Rourke expecting results soon and targeting approximately 100% resource conversion plus another ~100,000 oz (to ~800,000 oz over an ~8-year mine life).
  • Erfe views Scottie as a likely consolidation target — its location adjacent to the Ascot/Premiere mine (now under Cambria, roughly $5M/month in care and maintenance) makes it a logical satellite pit, and he projects possible 4x upside to a $1B market cap via a mid-tier or major takeover.
  • Strategic backers include Franco-Nevada (recently took a 2% NSR), Ross Beatty (~5%) and Eric Sprott (~5%); the company sits on roughly $22M cash and trades near all-time highs above $3/share as of early September 2026.
  • Funding plan is a 75/25 debt/equity package — roughly $125M of debt and $25–35M of equity targeted in early 2027 — on top of a near-term ~$25M internal raise from existing shareholders, against a PEA capex of ~$136M (feasibility expected closer to ~$150M).

Cassiar Gold's 2M+ oz Taurus needs a JV or sale of the southern ground to fund a real drill-out — hard-dollar runway sits at six months. Scottie Resources is targeting a mid-2026 feasibility study with eight rigs on a 50,000+ meter Blueberry program and deepwater port direct-ship ore (DSO) access. Premier Mill's care-and-maintenance status creates a clear consolidation path for Scottie, though Cambria's $5M/month burn stalls any near-term takeover scenario. Scottie carries insider backing from Franco-Nevada (2% NSR), Eric Sprott (5%), and Ross Beatty (5%); Cassiar trades on the optionality of a single JV decision. Cash burn, not geology, is the gate for both names: Cassiar needs a $25M JV, while Scottie plans a $25M insider-led raise to bridge into production.

Brien Lundin & Marc Chandler - Navigating the Precious Metals Rebound & Bond Market Realities

Brien Lundin & Marc Chandler - Navigating the Precious Metals Rebound & Bond Market Realities

The KE Report

Key Highlights

brief
  • Scottie Resources is running its largest drill program in company history, drilling roughly 50% more this year than its total prior drilling, according to Brien Lundin as of August 2026.
  • The guest says the company keeps hitting gold and the market is starting to recognize it, framing it as a reliable source of news flow heading into the fall.

Lundin ties the gold rebound to fading odds of a Fed hike, arguing the deficit and debt math make further rate rises untenable. He expects majors flush with cash to eventually buy growth as pipelines deplete, with juniors likely closing their valuation gap first. Chandler attributes the rally to a softer dollar and lower short-term rates, with central banks and gold-backed stablecoins adding persistent demand. Copper broke above $6.70 on AI-driven data center demand, with $8 copper seen plausible as data capex scales. Chandler says dollar/yen intervention alone cannot hold without BOJ rate hikes, leaving the 155 level as the operative line.

Don't Mistake Gold’s Weakness For a Dead Bull Run + Codelco Under Operational Meltdown

Don't Mistake Gold’s Weakness For a Dead Bull Run + Codelco Under Operational Meltdown

CEO.CA
3 months ago 7:10

Key Highlights

detailed
  • Scottie's inferred resource is put at 703,000 ounces of gold at a high grade of 6.1 grams per tonne, and the presenter calls it one of the highest-grade undeveloped gold projects in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.
  • A 2025 preliminary economic assessment for a direct ship ore scenario is said to show after-tax net present value ranging from C$215 million to over C$660 million, with a 1.7-year payback period.
  • Scottie has launched a fully funded 50,000-metre drill program aimed at growing the resource and fast-tracking the project to production.
  • The 100%-owned 58,500-hectare package is described as including the past-producing Scottie gold mine, an expanding contact zone and multiple exploration targets.
  • Scottie is named as one of the partners of this episode of Chairman's Briefing.

MKS Pamp keeps a $4,500 average gold forecast and $5,800 bull case, calling the dip toward $4,100 a healthy reset. Bank of America analysts say US equity speculation matches 1999-2000 extremes, the setup that last rotated capital into gold. Codelco, the world's largest copper supplier, faces 28-year-low output, $25 billion of debt, and calls for private capital. Ottawa's planned $100 million into Teck's Trail smelter targets germanium, which China supplies at over 80% of global output. De Beers is cutting rough diamond prices and dropping 25 buyers, pressuring Anglo American to consider offloading the unit.

Don Durrett and John Feneck Interview Scorpio Gold ($SGN | $SRCRF) CEO on 50,000 m Drill Program

Don Durrett and John Feneck Interview Scorpio Gold ($SGN | $SRCRF) CEO on 50,000 m Drill Program

Investor TV

Key Highlights

brief
  • Don Durrett lists Scottie Resources among exploration companies increasingly pivoting to production after 'doing the math' on the value left on the table.

Scorpio Gold is fully funded for a 50,000 m Nevada drill program, targeting growth from 740,000 oz toward 2 million oz this year. The CEO frames an eventual sale to a mid-tier as the goal, but says the company is not locked into any path. Grade is the differentiator: holding roughly 1.26 g/t against a 0.6 g/t Nevada open-pit average supports premium margins and strategic value. Durrett argues gold's pullback is a warning that the S&P is overextended, so he would buy junior dips rather than chase. The hosts frame junior mining returns as asymmetric: size positions small, buy capitulation, and only risk what you can afford to lose.

Optionality Update - April 2026

Optionality Update - April 2026

Don Durrett

Key Highlights

brief
  • Durrett says he bought Scottie Resources immediately once it moved to development and expects the small resource to grow to 2.5 million ounces.
  • He likes the British Columbia location and thinks the company is in good shape.

G Mining Ventures' $2 billion acquisition of G2 Goldfields implies roughly $500 per ounce, resetting valuation benchmarks for Canadian gold developers. A 72% premium for an exploration-stage project lifts per-ounce benchmarks, creating optionality across junior gold and silver names. Durrett screens about 60 juniors by future ounces against market cap, applying $250-$450 gold and $5 silver in-ground price assumptions. Names like Freegold, Triumph, Falco and Cabral show multi-bagger optionality if further deals clear at $300-$450 an ounce. He expects development-stage stocks to re-rate together if upcoming acquisitions keep pricing gold in the ground near $400 per ounce.

Scottie Resources released final 2025 drill results and outlined a fully-funded 50,000 metre drill program for 2026. The substantial 2026 drill program signals company confidence in resource expansion potential at their Golden Triangle project. Fully-funded status eliminates near-term financing risk, providing execution clarity for investors through 2026.

Newsletter Favorites Upside (using New GSD Defaults)

Don Durrett

Key Highlights

brief
  • The host calls Scottie Resources a three-year story but points to the leverage, printing as a 16-bagger.

Raising default price assumptions to $7,000 gold and $200 silver reflects conviction that current metal prices undershoot the macro setup. Screening 90 favorite miners at those prices prints 20-plus-bagger upside for many, but most need three-to-four-year mine builds first. Near-term producers like Guanajuato Silver need no new growth, so they offer immediate leverage if silver reaches $200. A gold-silver ratio squeeze toward 2.5-3% underpins the $175-200 silver target alongside $7,000 gold within 24-36 months. Timeline to getting paid is the key filter: the longer a mine build, the longer investors must wait for the printed upside.

Erik Wetterling – Record High Gold & Silver Prices Make Junior Producers & Advanced Developers Shine

The KE Report

Key Highlights

detailed
  • Erik frames Scottie's direct-ship ore / bulk-sample pivot as a 'make lemonade' move after the market stopped rewarding its drilling at the Scottie Goldmine project, with third-party validation from smart money and a Franco-Nevada involvement.
  • He estimates a current market cap around CAD 120 million versus an NPV he puts at roughly $700 million-plus at 2026-01-14 gold prices, with a near-surface, low-capex operation.
  • Erik argues investors do not have to bet on a drill bit because they can underwrite the known quantities of gold at current prices and discount for the time to first pour.
  • He sees the gap between current market cap and his NPV estimate as offering meaningful upside over roughly a two-year execution window even without exploration success.

At current gold prices, a 15,000-ounce junior producer earns the cash a 150,000-ounce mid-tier did in 2018 — so tier-3 assets now self-fund. Junior developers can use bulk samples, trial mining, or toll-mining to generate non-dilutive capital and self-fund a larger mine build. A developer's NPV at spot prices can dwarf its market cap — the trade then needs execution, not exploration success. The second leg of the Lassonde Curve (the pre-production 'golden runway') is where developers transition to producers and often get rewarded. Erik Wetterling sees capital rotating from seniors into precious-metals juniors that are generating revenue at record margins.
