Adam Burt
Former NHL Player | Pastor | Chaplain, New York Jets
"14-year NHL career and post-hockey ministry work; advisory role at Peter Grandich's Trinity Financial"
Biography
Adam Burt is a former National Hockey League defenseman who played 14 seasons (1988–2001) with the Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, and Atlanta Thrashers. Born and raised in Detroit, Burt carved out a lengthy professional hockey career despite battling injuries that would have ended the dreams of less resilient players. His on-ice toughness and perseverance became defining traits that he would later carry into his post-hockey life.
Following his retirement from the NHL, Burt transitioned into full-time ministry, serving as Senior Pastor of Every Nation NJ. He also became the chaplain for the New York Jets, providing spiritual guidance and support to NFL players. His unique journey from professional athlete to faith leader formed the basis of his book, "The Longest Game: Winning in Life," which draws parallels between athletic competition and life's broader challenges.
Burt's connection to the commodity and mining investment world comes through his association with Peter Grandich and Company, where he joined the Trinity Financial Sports & Entertainment Advisory Board in 2017. Trinity Financial is a division of Peter Grandich's firm, which is well known for its focus on resource and precious metals investing. While Burt's role was advisory and centered on athlete and entertainment client relations rather than commodity analysis, his presence in the Grandich orbit places him peripherally adjacent to the mining investment community.
For commodity and mining investors, Burt's relevance is limited. He is not an analyst, fund manager, or investment strategist in the natural resources space. His appearances on Peter Grandich's platform focused on his personal story, faith journey, and book rather than market commentary or resource sector insights.
