Anthony Margarit

President & CEO | K2 Gold Corp | Exploration geologist driving drill programs at Mojave and Si2

"Leading K2 Gold's drill campaigns that returned high-grade oxide-gold intercepts at the Dragonfly Zone on the Mojave Project."

Mining Executive

Biography

Anthony Margarit is President, CEO, and Director of K2 Gold Corp (TSXV: KTO), a junior exploration company advancing two district-scale gold projects in the United States. He has spent more than twenty-five years working the exploration pipeline — from greenfield prospecting and project generation through to multi-drill programs on advanced development assets — and his recent work has put K2 Gold on the map with step-out drilling at the Dragonfly Zone on the Mojave Project in southern California.

Margarit holds a BSc in Geology from Lakehead University and is a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.). Across his career he has explored for a wide range of commodities and deposit types at both major mining companies and junior explorers, giving him fluency in the full set of exploration methods that get used in the field. At K2 Gold he has run the 2025-2026 drill campaigns that returned long, oxide-gold intercepts from the Dragonfly Zone, including 27.43m of 4.03 g/t Au and follow-up holes such as 53.34m of 2.00 g/t Au with a high-grade oxide core of 15.24m of 5.33 g/t Au.

His approach at K2 is to take systematically generated, drill-ready targets and methodically de-risk them. The Mojave Project (Inyo County, California) is a 5,800+ hectare oxide gold and base-metal system covering twelve targets, with prior work by Newmont, BHP, and Asamera and grab samples running as high as 375 g/t Au and 2.91% Cu. K2's second asset, the Si2 Project in Alaska, has returned disseminated mineralization and gold-silver epithermal quartz veins, and Margarit has framed those results as a compelling case for further work. He is also a principal with Discovery Group, the project-generator that incubates exploration companies.

For a resource investor, Margarit is worth following because he is the operating principal on a junior that is converting an underexplored district into drill-confirmed ounces. His commentary on Mining Stock Daily, the Northern Miner, and the upcoming Mines and Money @ RESOURCING TOMORROW conference in London tends to focus on what the drill bit is actually returning and what the next phase is designed to answer — not on promotion. Investors looking at oxide-gold exposure in tier-one U.S. jurisdictions and at the Discovery Group incubator pipeline will see his name come up repeatedly as those projects advance.
