Blaine Monaghan
President, CEO & Director | Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd. | Mineral Exploration Executive
"Leading Pacific Ridge Exploration's copper-gold porphyry exploration in British Columbia and raising $125M+ for global mineral projects"
Biography
Blaine Monaghan is the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V: PEX | OTCQB: PEXZF), a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on copper-gold porphyry targets in British Columbia's prolific mining belts. With more than 20 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry, Monaghan has built a reputation as a capital-efficient operator with a proven track record of creating shareholder value across multiple exploration ventures.
Throughout his career, Monaghan has been involved in capital raises totaling more than $125 million for exploration projects around the globe. His ability to access capital markets and deploy funds into high-impact drilling programs has made him a recognized figure among retail and institutional mining investors. He previously served as CEO and Non-Independent Director at Hayasa Metals, Inc., and joined Pacific Ridge in 2017 before ascending to the top executive role in 2021.
Under Monaghan's leadership, Pacific Ridge Exploration has advanced its flagship Kliyul copper-gold project, located in the Quesnel Trough of north-central British Columbia—a jurisdiction known for hosting significant porphyry deposits. The company's strategy centers on acquiring and drilling underexplored mineral claims in proven mining districts, leveraging modern geophysical and geological techniques to target large-scale copper-gold systems at a time when global copper supply constraints are drawing increasing investor attention.
Monaghan holds an MBA and is a frequent presenter at the Metals Investor Forum, where he engages directly with the resource investment community. His presentations and interviews with analysts such as Eric Coffin of HRA Advisories demonstrate his commitment to transparent shareholder communication and his deep understanding of what exploration investors look for: district-scale potential, responsible capital allocation, and clear catalysts for value creation.

Major Peruvian Miner Minsur Makes Strategic Investment in Pacific Ridge Exploration
- Top takeaway Monaghan's headline point is that the Minsur-backed financing leaves Pacific Ridge well funded for at least 2,500 meters of drilling at each of RDP and Kliyul, with about $2.5-3 million in hard dollars still expected at year-end.
- He believes a porphyry center may sit nestled between the Eastern lobe and the Western magnetic lobe at the Day target on RDP, and says testing that idea is a big focus of this year's program, with holes envisioned at 500-600 meters that would keep going if they hit mineralization.
- He ranks M39 as probably the strongest target at Kliyul outside of KMZ and suggests that, with success there, the full 2,500-meter program could go into M39 rather than being spread across other targets like KCC.
- He argues RDP's grade - some of BC's highest-grade porphyry copper-gold mineralization - explains why it draws far more inbound interest than Kliyul despite Kliyul's larger open resource, because higher grade means less tonnage is needed and economics look better.
- He expects a busy news cycle: camp construction starting the week after the interview, drilling at RDP by end of month, a second rig on Kliyul around mid-August, and results from both projects from late summer or early September through December, which he calls the start of a new cycle.
Peruvian major Minsur became a strategic investor, taking 13.8% of Pacific Ridge through an $8.5 million financing — its first investment outside South America. The strategic participation let Pacific Ridge price the round at $0.294 with fewer warrants, leaving about $9 million cash and roughly 97 million shares out. Nearly $4 million of charity flow-through (financing that must fund critical-minerals work) points the first drilling at the more copper-rich RDP project. Both projects get at least 2,500 meters: RDP drills a suspected porphyry center (a deposit's mineralized heart), Kliyul starts at target M39. RDP's high-grade hits (162 meters at 1.9% copper equivalent — all metals restated as copper grade) pull major interest because grade cuts the tonnage needed.

Don Durrett & John Feneck: Insights Into Pacific Ridge Exploration ($PEX | $PEXZF) & Stocks Round-Up
- Top takeaway He argues Pacific Ridge is undervalued — its BC deposit compares favourably with peers on tonnage and grade while peers trade 6 to 8 times higher, and he says the company is criminally undervalued and intends to close that gap.
- The flagship project's inaugural resource came out of last year's partnership with a French investor group that injected capital; it is 334 million tonnes at about 0.33 copper equivalent, it remains open, and he wants to see it grow past half a billion tonnes.
- The 2026 plan announced on April 14, 2026 commits to a minimum of 2,000 metres at the flagship and 2,000 metres at RDP, plus testing three other targets along a 6-kilometre mineralised trend he believes could host another deposit.
- He flags that about $2 million in the treasury will not fund the 2026 programme, so a financing announcement is expected, and says the news was held back while markets were risk-off and only released once sentiment moved from extreme fear toward greed.
- He says a preliminary economic assessment is still a few seasons away because the main zone needs delineating and roughly another 20,000 metres of infill drilling, and he wants to retain 100 percent ownership, entertaining a joint venture only if it brings strategic capital for the other project; more than two dozen confidentiality agreements are signed.
The episode opens by stating it is disseminated on behalf of Pacific Ridge Exploration, so company-supplied claims deserve independent verification. Pacific Ridge's British Columbia copper-gold portfolio is positioned for a widening copper supply-demand gap the CEO argues began with electrification. The shares trade near one cent per pound of copper in the ground, which the analyst frames as a wide discount against comparable British Columbia peers. Among junior gold names the analyst prefers 1911 Gold and Lahontan Gold on risk-reward, citing 1911's restart and Lahontan's straightforward open pit. Denarius Metals' Saudi interest and a bid for Emorita Resources signal expansion, while a Pacific Ridge financing announcement is flagged as likely.
