Great Pacific Gold - Exploration Update: Kavasuki Drill Results, Expanding EK Targets
The KE Report Sep 2, 2026 11:24
Summary
Great Pacific Gold wrapped a 12-hole maiden drill program at Kavasuke on the Wild Dog project in Papua New Guinea.
Nine of twelve Kavasuke holes hit broad shallow gold mineralization across roughly 600m of strike length.
Drills are now moving south to Megamut and Megiabi, with the EK targets advancing through trenching and sampling.
El Miraco trenching returned 9m at 4.8 g/t gold; Cargalio returned 6m at 7 g/t including 2m at 16 g/t.
The company holds about $22M cash and plans roughly 13,000m of drilling across about 50 prospects by year-end.
Alex Heath's takeaways
- Top takeaway The CEO's core thesis is that Wild Dog is materially underexplored — the first targets drilled (Sinovit, Kavasuke, Casey Ridge) were chosen for road access, 'not necessarily our best targets,' with ~50 targets on the property and the possibility of 'a monster just waiting in the weeds.'
- He argues the gold system keeps expanding under systematic modern work — every new campaign surfaces targets 'that come out of nowhere,' most recently the new mineralized breccia zone at Cargalio ~260m east of the historic vein.
- He argues the source of the gold has not yet been identified — epithermal-style mineralization is confirmed, but Casey Ridge and Magyabi look like possible porphyry feeders, suggesting the highest-grade concentrations are still ahead and explaining the search for 'multiple intrusions' rather than just veins.
- He commits to finishing the ~13,000m drill program by Dec 31, 2026 with ~$22M of cash at June 30, 2026 — framing funding as 'not an issue' and budgeting for at least another year of follow-up work plus a revisit of Kavasuke and Casey Ridge.
